With all of the craziness going on in the automotive world over the failures, slow sales, cut backs, and everything for the past five years being somewhat tied to the new generation of Pony Cars, we fought hard not to give any more light to an already saturated and overstated place in the market. But folks, let's be real... autoFrenzy.net would be doing itself a great dis-service by not giving at least some credit to at least one of the original Americans.
And credit is due... Just be ready to Pay up..
And so it begins...
Just getting it right...
They say Its all in the details, and boy is it in the details.
The word nostalgic just doesn't cut it for this Mopar Miracle. In borrowing a phrase right out of the 70's this thing is Bad..!! Dodge and Chrysler was the last one to show up with their design for their new Pony Car on the Auto Circuit, yet was the first one to have a finished Product out of the door and ready to roll.
An era of cars, music and fun in the sunshine
When standing still The Challenger emits limitless speed and beauty without trying. It is definitely the one Pony Car that captures the essence of a time long gone of Psychedelic clothes, platform shoes, 8 track tapes, car washes and Sundays in the local Park.
This interior is so inviting that once you get in, you just never want to get out. The beauty of the car remains in it's visual simplicity. It is in a word, just right. I cant find anything that is overdone. Though the Dash Cowl, Bezel and Analog Speedo is just common Chrysler simple, it all just Fits..
Seats are extremely firm, comfortable, supportive and highly adjustable. Very un-Pony Car like, and even with just two doors, there is still enough space in the back for two six foot adults. The trunk is great for groceries and suitcases for long trips.... Dammit, I love it!
Prices for the Challenger V6 for 2012 should start around $22,000, and run the full spectrum all the way up to the special Yellow Jacket Edition starting at $50,000.
Now, even with all of the new Pony Wars out there, this car is not the fastest, it's not the best handling as it's ride is comfort soft, and nor is it the most compact as it is rather large for a Pony Car. What it is, however, is Nostalgic Genius and Poetry in motion, even when sitting still. Sorry, but no other thing, living or dead even comes close..! Dammit, I love it..! Thank you Chrysler. .......And for our readers, look out for Major Upgrades for the Challenger coming from the now Chrysler/Fiat Group, Including their New Pentastar V6 as well as the rumored 8 speed Transmission..
