Acura and the new ILX
The Civic on Steroids, or a new Acura by Gerber.....?
Either way, take out your spoon and get some water to help you swallow because the baby Acura is here.!
Born off the Honda Civic platform, the ILX is the first small car from the Acura brand in quite a few years since the RSX, and the first four door since the Integra, and with sales slowing down on the current crop of the larger luxo cars everywhere, car makers are dropping the hat into the small near luxury arena in an attempt to get a piece of the pie.
The Hott little Acura ILX.....
Base price of $25,900 gets standard sunroof, push-button start, paddle-shifters, a USB port, Bluetooth, voice texting and a very comfortable and sporty ride and interior. GPS, ELS surround sound, leather, Xenon headlamps, auto climate control, rear camera and other upgrades are included in the technology package at an extra cost of about $5,500, taking the price up and over $31,000. 17 inch rims (up from the standard 16's) are also included in this package. The hybrid is also available in two flavors: base or Technology Package, the latter increases the Hybrids cost to about $36,000 but the fuel savings more than make up for the extra cost of the car.
The upgraded 17inch wheels and tires on the 2.4 ILX..
Going on a trip... The trunk is more than adequate..
At the end of the day, no matter which way that you turn, if you have an affinity with the Acura brand, then one thing is for sure. You will get a competent car with a larger than life personality and a longevity quota built right in.
Bottom line: If you have a large sized family, then look for something a little bigger. If you on the other hand have a small family, or it's just you and the significant other and you want a car that is expected to mechanically hold up, retain it's value and to get you from point A to point B with no trouble expected for through the next, hmmm, say 300,000 miles, then go and see the Boys and Girls with the Japanese shield (ACURA) and tell them to point the way to the new ILX. And make sure you tell them that Dre' sent you.
