The Mercedes Benz CLA 250
I just hope there's some milk in that baby bottle..
Downsizing cars, cutting cost, front wheel drive...? ...Yes, front wheel drive..! Mercedes has the kind of marketing that had been directed towards the more wealthy, and more stuffy automobile shoppers. The kind of shopper that goes to the dealership and wants ultimate luxury and all the frills without anyone trying to force his or her hand. They then skip the financing line, and the full purchase is made with a check. That being said, since the crash of 2008, the wealthy aren't all that eager to part with hmm, say, $90,000 from their checking account. Those customers aren't as abundant as they used to be, so in simple language, Mercedes needs customers.. Where is Mercedes looking for these new customers..? Right in the middle of the pack where automobiles are still selling like a good breakfast. The Luxury Sport Compact market.
There are a lot of automobile manufacturers that have crept upon the ass of Benz since that time, and have forced the company to make radical changes in order to stay competitive. For more than a few reasons Mercedes Benz has kept it's smaller European offerings from this side of the pond because they don't sell well and because it cheapens the image of how we generally look at Mercedes as a whole.... But not anymore..
......oh, but not this time
Nothing was left out..!!
Everything from the roota to the toota...
The steering is electric with power corrective elements that compensate for drivers that are not paying attention to the roads, high winds, or if the driver is falling asleep. Soft touches abound everywhere as, a button focused steering wheel w/hands free calling, vinyl text, leather, suede, wood, black ash, faux aluminum, raised colored stitching, and real polished aluminum, are all options. 17 or 18 inch tires are also an option with traditional or run flat tires, as is a sunroof, navigation with app's, Mp3 plug in, CD player, power seats, adaptive cruise control, climate control, and those circular vents that blow quietly into the night as you are out enjoying your Saturday drive to Granny's house for dinner.
Sports seats, sports suspension, LED front and rear lights, and side mirror indicators, come standard for buyers in North America. The car feels tight and very solid and even for a relatively small Mercedes Benz, it is a pleasure to drive. You can also expect to get a combined fuel economy number of about 31mpg.
