Soon to be discontinued, the chevrolet Avalanche
No More Falling Snow Ahead...!
Mountain-goats tread lightly..
Chevy smoothed out the design with the new Avalanche and took it even further upscale, adding to it more charm and losing none of it's former ability or flexibility.
Off to the Ski Resort in comfort.
At the height of its sales in 2003, the Avalanche sold about 93,400 copies and the year before was named Motortrend's Truck of the Year for 2002, but later in the fallout of the loss of love for the Big V8's, High Fuel prices, and the trend of the public moving to smaller more fuel efficient cars, the Avalanche has fallen off the cliff and this month GM announced that the Big Chevy will end it's snow covered reign at the end of the 2013 model year. Recalls: The worst year(s) were the 2003 and 04 and since that time GM has issued a total of 6 recalls for everything from the safety belt tensioners, brake problems, emissions, electrical problems with lighting, structural and the most serious being a fire hazard from a possible fuel discharge near an electrical charge. If you are in the market for one of these trucks (of any model year) make sure you check the recall notices and make sure that the truck is thoroughly checked out.
